WORLD DAY ON SAFETY AND HEALTH AT WORK

Since 2003, the International Labour Organization (ILO) observes the World Day on Safety and Health at Work on April 28. This year the campaign focuses on work-related stress and its impact on workers’ mental and physical health.

Work-related stress, diseases, injuries and deaths, are still a big issue in today’s workplaces: for this reason, this year, ILO decided to draw attention on the increasing pressure that workers from all over the world are facing in order to keep up the demanding modern working life.

ILO’s main purpose is to prevent the devastating psychosocial risks that the current situation may cause to all professions and all workers both in developed and developing countries.

We truly hope that the outcome will be a reinforcement of a world awareness of the importance of a safe workplace -from the point of view of both a physical and mental well-being. Although this duty pertains to a great extent to governments and ministries, every employer, employee and colleague must play his role in order to achieve an agreeable work environment.

«Workplace Stress: a collective challenge»
is the aim of the campaign 2015
