The UNI 11578:2015 standard was formally withdrawn by UNI on 30 June 2026. However, due to delays in the harmonization of the new European standard EN 17235:2024 (which only took place on 6 February 2026), a time misalignment has arisen on the market.
To avoid regulatory gaps and ensure product availability, the European regulatory framework provides for a coexistence period from 9 February 2026 to 9 August 2027. During this period:
It is still fully legal to place non-CE marked permanent anchor devices on the market in compliance with the new EN 17235:2024.
Manufacturers can continue to produce and supply devices by referring to UNI 11578:2015 , under their own responsibility and following a correct assessment of the suitability of the adopted reference.
The definitive obligation to CE mark according to the EN 17235:2024 standard will come into force exclusively from 10 August 2027 .
